MECCA: Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Head of the Oman Haj Mission, affirmed that the mission has mobilised all available resources to serve the pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman during the Day of Arafat, ensuring they can perform this great pillar of Islam in an atmosphere of security, tranquillity and peace.

In a statement, he said that the mission is working according to a comprehensive plan in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to monitor the conditions of Omani pilgrims in Arafat and provide various religious, guidance, medical, security and safety services, in addition to intensifying field efforts to ensure the smooth flow and safety of pilgrims during their movement and transportation, according to a detailed plan prepared for this purpose.

Al Rashdi added that the mission is committed to continuous monitoring of the pilgrims' camps and providing the necessary support to Omani Haj companies to ensure a suitable environment for pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and comfort, while coordinating the roles of the various delegations working within the mission.

On another note, several owners of Omani Haj companies praised the significant improvement in the level of services and facilities provided in the Mina and Arafat camps during this year's season.

He added that the improvements included increasing service facilities, restrooms and washing facilities, and improving public amenities to meet the pilgrims' needs.

Mohammed bin Salem al Saadi, one of the owners of Haj and Umrah tour operators, explained that the organisational efforts exerted by the Oman Haj Mission, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have contributed to raising the level of preparedness within the two camps and providing integrated services that help pilgrims perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind. - ONA
